Some player has started their US Open 2019 campaign with their resolute performance, but some of them have exited in the first round. Naomi Osaka, Rafael Nadal, Simona Halep began their campaign like a champion.
On Second-day, after defeating Australian John Millman by 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 Rafel Nadal seemed very dominant in his first-round at US Open 2019. Spaniard Nadal showed magnificent service performance. He played with consistent performance in his service game for the whole two hours and seven-minute victory game.
After the victory, Nadal stated, “The first match is always a little bit new. Even if I’ve played here many times, the beginnings are not easy. The serve worked well tonight and while my backhand wasn’t as good as it can be, I am very happy.“
Nadal will be facing one more Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis who has entered through a wild-card and his current ATP ranking 203rd.
In the Women’s Singles, World No.1 Naomi Osaka entered in the second round of US Open 2019 after defecting Russia’s Anna Blinkova with a 6-4 6-7 (5) 6-2.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been this nervous in my life, She played really amazing. And for me, I came off really slow. I never really found my rhythm. I fought as hard as I could and I managed to win.” Osaka said at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Now in the second round, Osaka will face Poland’s Magda Linette on Thursday.
Simona Halep has also joined Osaka and reached in the second round after beating Nicole Gibbs in Women’s single round with 6-3, 3-6, 6-2. She faced difficulty in the second set but she managed in the third set ultimately cleared the first round of US Open 2019.
Austrian Dominic Thiem indifferent and uncertain form counties from the first set of the US Open 2019. He was kicked off by Thomas Fabbiano with 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2. This is the first big knock in US Open 2019.
Russian Anna Kalinskaya upset the game after knock down American Sloane Stephens from the first round. 15-year old Cori Gauff defeated Anastasia Potapova whereas Czechian Petra Kvitová will appear in the second round after defeating Denisa Allertová.
