The 6-times US Open Grand Slam title winner Serena Williams reaches in the US Open 2019 finals. In the Semi-final match at Ashe Stadium on Thursday night, Serena performed impressively and sealed the victory by 6-3, 6-1 over World No. 5 Elina Svitolina.
This will be Serena’s fourth final in the past six major tournaments. She remains the finalist at Wimbledon for consecutively last two years, losing to Angelique Kerber in 2018 and to Simona Halep in July 2019. A year ago, she was the runners-up at the US Open title, losing to Naomi Osaka.
Serena said, “It’s just impressive, I guess, I don’t think about it. I just come out here and do what I can.”
Serena consecutively won the US Open title from 2012 to 2014. She has also set a record for the longest playing appearance between her first career Grand Slam title match and most recent appearance. 20 years ago, she had won her first-ever Grand Slam title when she was just a teenager.
The important part, if she would beat World no 15 Bianca Andreescu in Saturday US Open final, then Serena will equal Margaret Court’s record to win 24 Grand Slam Women’s Singles title, which is the highest in tennis history.
Will Serena create the history by winning US Open title 2019 on Saturday??
