Consistency always plays key role in building up any player’s character.  Consistency during failure stage to get success and consistency during stage success to get more.

This characteristic is meticulously defined and proved consistently very well in one player who motivates players of every generations.

Robindra Ramnarine Singh – Robin Singh – rapid runner between wickets, sharp fielder and an all rounder.

A fierce and passionate all rounder in 90s era, resolute coach of an outstanding Mumbai IPL team. A person that breath in and out consistency through out his career spanning some 16 years.

Started his first class cricket career in 1985 – 86 from Tamil Nadu state and selected in Indian team for West Indies tour in 1989. The era of Sachin is yet not started and Gavaskar had been retired from the team. Team was having great players on its side but young blood had to be proved. The series proved to be nightmare for Indians in both test and ODI. And Robin Singh had not made any remarkable scores/wickets in this series. No one knew him and no one took care to know him.

After this series he was dropped from the team and he started playing domestic cricket. He kept playing domestic cricket for around 6 years before he was called again in the team in Titan cup tournament in 1996. He started playing in 9th match of the tournament. Though not batted well but took important wickets (MarK Waugh and S G Law) and make is remarkable presence in victory of India. This performance kept going on during his playing tenure till he got retired in 2001.  He managed to bat quite well in match defining overs where do or die attitudes works well. He succeeded in these conditions and proven himself repetitively. He kept playing good cricket while batting, bowling and fielding. His excellent running between wickets always snatched runs from fielder and his sharp quick fielding skills never allowed to take any extra runs in the opposite side.

Robin Singh retired from international cricket in 2001 after playing against Australia.

Motivational factor : Consistency

Robin Singh was selected in for cricket team and dropped after the same series. Not given a chance to prove himself. He kept playing good cricket and again was selected for Indian team after almost seven years. During this time span he played in domestic cricket and once again when he selected for India team he played while improving himself in all three area.
