Team India defeated West Indies by 125 runs and throw West Indies from Cricket World Cup 2019 semi-final race. Mohamed Shami picked up 4 wickets which helped India to register the victory and remains unbeaten through the World Cup 2019.
Team India won the toss and decided to bat first. KL Rahul played fantastic inning and scored 48 runs from 64 balls which included 6 fours. The Indian team lost both wickets of the openers on 98 runs and put pressure on Indian batsmen. Virat Kohli played captain innings helped India to cross 150+ runs, but on another other side wickets constantly loosing. Captain Kohli scored 72 runs from 82 balls which included 8 fours.
MS Dhoni played wise innings and built the partnership of 70 runs with hard-hitter Hardik Pandya and helped Indian team to reach 250 total. Pandya played good innings and scored 46 runs off to 38 balls with a notable strike rate of 121.25 which included 5 boundaries.
Indian team former Captain and current Indian team senior player MS Dhoni played unbeaten wise innings and scored 56 runs from 61 balls with a good strike rate of 91.80 which included 3 fours and 2 sixes. Early wickets and middle order’s fail performance put pressure on the Indian team but at the end of innings, India team managed to put a decent total of 268 with the loss of 7 wickets. Kemar Roach had picked 3 wickets, as well Sheldon Cottrell and Jason Holder had picked 2 wickets each.
West Indies needed 269 runs to win the game over India, but Mohammed Shami had quickly picked two big wickets of Chris Gayle and Shai Hope and put pressure on Windies batsmen. India did very well bowling and hold the pressure. West Indies batsmen lost the wickets on regular intervals. West Indies debutant opener Sunil Ambris scored 31 runs from 40 balls. Apart from, Ambris no other batsmen able to score 30+ runs.
West Indies team was all-out in 34.2 overs and just managed to score 143 runs. India registered victory by 125 runs. Mohammed had shown up with the ball and picked 4 wickets. Chahal, Bumrah had picked 2 wickets and Pandya, Kuldeep had picked a wicket each.
Virat Kohli was awarded Man of the Match award for his victorious innings which helped India to reach a decent total. After yesterday’s match, India is now on the second position of table point and remained unbeaten through so far of the tournament.
