IND beat BAN by 28 runs & 3rd-time qualified for World Cup Semi-final

Cricket World Cup 2019 match no. 40 played between India and Bangladesh which won India by 23 runs and consistently third time qualified for in World Cup semi-finals.

India won the toss and decided to bat first. Rahul and Rohit Sharma had given an energetic opening partnership for India and scored 180 runs for the first wicket. Soumya Sarkar was broke the partnership and took the wicket of Rohit Sharma; He had scored 104 runs off to 92 balls with a good strike rate of 110, included 7 fours and 5 sixes.

Rubel Hossain carried momentum for Bangladesh and took the wicket of KL Rahul. In the absence of Shikhar Dhawan, Rahul proved his worth for the team and scored 77 runs from 92 balls which included 6 fours and one sixes.

Apart from Rahul and Rohit, Rishabh Pant had played well innings and scored 48 runs off to 41 balls with a notable strike rate of 117.07. Dhoni’s 35 runs inning helped Indian team to cross-over 300 runs on the scoreboard. Bangladesh bowlers had done well come back and took wickets on regular intervals. Mustafizur Rahman had picked 5 wickets, out of it he had picked 4 big wickets of Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Hardi Pandya, and Dinesh Karthik which destructed Indian middle and lower-middle batting order.

However, the Indian team had managed to put a good total of 314 runs on the scoreboard with the loss of 9 wickets in 50 overs. Shakib Al Hasan, Rubel Hossain, and Soumya Sarkar had taken one wicket each.

Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar played with control and built an opening partnership for chasing a target of 315 runs, but Shami broke the opening partnership at 31 runs with the wicket of Iqbal. Hardik Pandya didn’t perform with a bat but he did with the ball, picked 3 wickets of the top middle order of Bangladesh team. Shakib Al Hasan has been consistently performing well for Bangladesh, he made one more half-century, scored 66 off to 74 balls with 6 fours.

Apart from Shakib Al Hasan, Mohammad Saifuddin had scored an unbeaten half-century and scored 51 off to 38 balls with a fantastic strike rate of 134.21; which included 9 fours. Indian bowlers managed to restrict Bangladesh batsmen in death overs, and Bangladesh team was all-out in 48 over and managed to reach 286 runs.

The death over specialist Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah had picked 4 wickets and finished proceeding for India. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, and Yuzvendra Chahal had picked one wicket each.

Pandya’s 3 and Bumrah’s 4 wickets had helped Indian team to register a victory by 28 runs. After winning this match, the Indian team has become the second semi-finalist team of Cricket World Cup 2019. From the 2011 World Cup, the Indian team has been consistently third time qualifying for the World Cup Semi-final.

Rohit Sharma had been awarded Man of the Match for playing amazing innings and scored one more century in World Cup 2019 edition. Following from his last century, Sharma has equaled Kumar Sangakkara’s record to score most centuries in single World Cup edition.
